Leonhardstrasse

According to the development plan, three buildings are to be constructed on the site. The corner building responds to the urban intersection situation, referencing both the closed and the adjacent detached developments. The height of the existing façades along Leonhardstraße is continued through a four-story base zone. Above this, the structure becomes more articulated through projecting and recessed spatial volumes and stepped façade fronts with terraces, giving the rooftop structures a floating appearance. The mixed-use building is planned to include a shop or café with a gallery on the ground floor and 10 apartments on the upper floors. The proportions of the courtyard buildings correspond to the northern villa-style or detached housing developments. Here, the more closed street-facing façade and the open, terraced courtyard-side design form a key conceptual approach. This is further emphasized by the orientation and openness of the residential units toward the quiet, green inner courtyard. The building mass integrates harmoniously into the surrounding urban ensemble through its articulation and terracing.
